The
Armada Precision Remanufacturing Process
|
| After an initial
high-temperature pressure wash, shoe cores are sorted by type
and size. We then remove the old blocks on an automatic delining
press (see figure A) so that the bare
shoe can be blasted clean (see figure B).
This cleaning removes any original paint and any residual
debris. The shoes are then quality checked for roller and
anchor wear, elongated rivet holes and rust pitting. Any brake
shoes that fall outside of specified standards are discarded.
The brake shoes that remain are then coined
(see figure C) using a 750 ton press to correct any
twists or distortions and to restore the table radius to OEM
specifications. We then apply an oven-baked, enamel paint
coating (see figure D) that has been
specially formulated to resist rust and corrosion which can
cause the premature failure of the brake shoe. On this foundation,
we then mount quality Armada brake blocks using automatic
riveters which are constantly monitored to ensure accurate
application pressure and secure attachment
(see figure E). To help you identify our shoes more
easily, the rivets we use are marked with the letters "TP"
on the head. We also apply a label to the shoe itself with
the part number and the date of manufacture printed on it.
The shoes are then palletized or boxed with hardware kits
and labeled with customizable labels (see figure
F). |
